CMT History

Carolina Material Technologies was originally founded in 1996 by Scott Dahlgren, who steadily grew it into one of the premier manufacturers' rep firms in the Southeast. Well before the company's inception, Scott built up an impressive history working with hundreds of different materials as a test lab technician in college. His intial experience taught him how different every application can be, and how important it is to take all aspects into account when designing or specifying equipment and systems. With one succesful installation after another, the business expanded, and CMT began offering larger integrated systems and eventually launched its own line of bulk bag unloaders, vibratory feeders, and other process equipment—operating under the name CMT Process Solutions.

With the company growing into a national equipment and systems provider, there was a need to refocus dedicated sales and support efforts in the Carolinas. After spending 8 years working closely with CMT Process Solutions—providing everything from components and stand-alone equipment to complex, multi-million-dollar silo systems—I was proud to take the opportunity to continue the legacy of Carolina Material Technologies.

Now operating as Carolina Material Technologies, LLC, we remain committed to building strong customer relationships and delivering expert consultation and engineering support for the bulk material handling industry across North and South Carolina. It’s a privilege to serve this region with the same values and technical excellence the company has upheld for nearly three decades

To continue to grow, CMT strives to build relationships with its customers and innovatively meet their needs better than anyone else in the Carolinas. We strive to respond in the best fashion  possible, provide more in terms of our proposals, literature and binders, and, in the end solve our customers problems in the most efficient way possible.  We understand that there are generally mutliple ways to approach and solve a specific bulk material handling problem. Our goal is to meld our experience with the customers, listen well, collabroate, and come up with the best possible solution.
